Almost one in four Australians was born overseas. The Human Development Index of the UN Human Development Report 2011 ranked Australia second in the world. The Economist Intelligence Unit’s 2014 World’s Most Livable Cities Survey ranked Melbourne No. 1 in the World’s most livable city.

Language Required

You have to provide results of an English language test. Be aware that the English language skill level required by an institution can be different from the level of skill required for your student visa application. English language test like International English Language Testing System (IELTS), Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), Pearson Language Test (PTE), and Cambridge Advanced English (CAE) are acceptable in Australia.

Work opportunity

Working while you study in Australia can help complement your study and living experience. There are a number of reasons you might want to undertake part time work while studying in Australia, including assisting with living expenses and gaining work experience in your study area. International students who wish to study in Australia first need to be accepted into an Australian educational institution before applying for a student visa. When applying for a visa, students will need to supply confirmation of enrollment issued by the Australian educational institution which the student intends to attend, as part of their application. This serves as proof that the student is really staying in Australia for educational purpose. Most student visas allow you to work for up to 40 hours every two weeks while your course is in session, and unrestricted hours during any scheduled course break, but before you undertake any paid work you need to make sure your visa allows you to work.
